2023 M+J Becker Pinot Meunier

Meagan and James Becker’s winemaking journey spans across the vineyards of California, to our own Hunter Valley ~ bridging the vinous landscapes of two continents.

They began their first label in 2015 in the vineyards of Mendocino ~ a pilgrimage they still make each year. Now calling the Hunter Valley home, the Beckers craft wines with a collective of like-minded local winemakers (including 2 of our fave female winemakers ~ Mem Hemmings (Meredith by Mem) + Peta Kotz (Sabi Wabi), fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and a shared commitment to quality.

In 2019 Meagan and James took over the management of Ablington Vineyard in the Hunter Valley, where their dedication to organic practices and soil health is evident. Their hands-on approach and commitment to composting enrich the land, cultivating a vibrant soil food web that supports their vines and yields exquisite wines.

Meagan and James are now venturing into the world of spirits. Inspired by their American roots, they’re crafting an Australian-style Tequila. They're also eager to explore new regions and partner with growers who share their vision for sustainable quality viticulture.
