Famelia's team of somms say this wine smells like Calvados Brandy, sour cherries + pepper, and is mildy reductive on the nose. It's oily on the palate, with the Calvados Brandy following through from the nose, along with flavours of pecorino + pink pepper.

About the Winemakers

Trish Nelson, born in Australia, settled in Italy in her early 20s after falling in love with its food and winemaking culture. Since living there, she has learned from some of the country’s most respected natural wine producers, such as Cantina Giardino and Le Coste. She now makes her own wines from two hectares of old vines in the volcanic hills of Bolsena, in northern Lazio.

Trish produces her wines using various vessels and following the principles of natural winemaking. What sets her apart is her choice to use chestnut barrels for macerated white wines, (resulting in a more subtle, sweet flavour), her commitment to avoiding sulfites, and her unwavering dedication to crafting exceptional wines in each vintage.

In recent years, Trish has been joined by her partner, Piero. Piero, a musician, has dedicated the last decade to nurturing several vineyards not far from Trish’s vines. Together, they make an impressive team, growing grapes, olives, fruits and herbs, and keep bees, following organic and biodynamic principles. They make wines that reflect their personalities and their environment, full of energy, harmony and joy.
