Mornington Peninsula, VIC

This is not your typical pinot gris. This wine that embraces the red side of the grape, fermenting on skins for 10 days to extract colour, flavour and texture. The result is a stunning coral-hued wine that bursts with aromas of pink rose, white pepper, sour cherry, plum and rhubarb. On the palate, it's juicy, savoury and spicy, with a refreshing acidity and a silky mouthfeel.

ABOUT THE WINEMAKER

Kate McIntyre is one of the few Masters of Wine in the world. Her passion for wine was ignited by her parents, Richard and Jill, who established the winery in 1982 in the cool-climate Mornington Peninsula region. Kate grew up among the vines and learned the art of natural winemaking from her father, who still oversees the production of elegant and expressive Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Kate contributes her own innovative ideas, such as the skin-contact Pinot Gris, which has become a signature wine of the estate. She travels the world to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for Australian wine, but always returns to her beloved Mornington Peninsula, where she continues to tell the story of her family's winery and the region's terroir.
