About the Winemaker
Arianna Occhipinti | Occhipinti
Arianna Occhipinti is rewriting the rules, and has been doing so since she started her winemaking journey just over twenty years ago. At just 22, she was inspired by her uncle but determined to carve her own path - one that honoured tradition while challenging convention. Farming organically, using biodynamic principles, and allowing her wines to express themselves naturally, she’s become a cult favourite in the natural wine world. Her approach? Less intervention, more soul. What results are wines that pulse with life, just like Sicily itself - raw, rugged, yet vibrant and beyond delicious.
Tucked away in Vittoria, Sicily, Occhipinti is all about letting the land do the talking, just how we like it. Arianna’s 18 hectares of organically farmed vines are dedicated to the region’s native grapes, Frappato and Nero d’Avola, grown in a mix of limestone and sand that gives each wine a unique personality. She ferments naturally, ages in concrete and neutral oak, and adds minimal sulfur. Every bottle is authentic and full of energy, but with a rebellious backbone... just like Arianna herself. Her wines truly are a reflection of her expressive, uncompromising spirit, with each sip carrying the sun-soaked warmth of Vittoria, the salty warm breeze from the Mediterranean, and the raw, untamed beauty of Sicily on the whole.
