Varietal: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
Region: Freycinet, TAS
Winemakers: Keira O'Brien + Claudio Radenti

Move over run-of-the-mill bubbly. This 2016 Radenti Grand Vintage lounged on lees for over five years, soaking up all that yeasty, biscuity goodness, emerging with layers of buttery brioche, zingy citrus blossom, and a drizzle of Tasmanian kunzea honey. The bubbles are so fine they practically float. A salty, nutty finish awaits. Lingering long on the palate, it is rich yet refreshing and silky. Sourced entirely from a single vineyard in the coolest pocket of the estate, this sparkling is all about the long game - slow-ripened fruit, extended lees aging, and the kind of patience that well and truly pays off. A stunner for your next dinner party.

About the Winemakers
Keira O'Brien + Claudio Radenti | Freycinet

Before stepping in as Freycinet’s head winemaker in 2022, Keira O’Brien was busy saving Tasmania’s oldest commercial Riesling vines and launching her own label, Rivulet Wines. Her style is meticulous yet playful, always chasing texture and a true sense of place. With stints in McLaren Vale, the Yarra Valley, and Tasmania’s top vineyards, she’s got cool-climate winemaking down to a fine art. Now at Freycinet, she’s building on a rich legacy of single-vineyard excellence while keeping her own philosophies front and centre. Alongside Keira is Claudio Radenti, Freycinet’s long-standing winemaker and second-generation custodian of the vineyard. Claudio has spent decades refining his signature style and is a firm believer in minimal intervention, letting the vineyard’s unique coastal terroir shine through.

Freycinet Vineyard sits at the heart of Tasmania’s winemaking history. Since 1979, this family-run estate on the east coast has been crafting some of the state’s most distinctive wines, shaped by salty sea breezes and rich volcanic soils. Back in 1993, they shook up the scene by producing Tasmania’s first premium sparkling, the Radenti Grand Vintage, proving that world-class fizz wasn’t just a mainland game.
