NV Il Poggio di Gavi Frizzante L'eco

Francesca Poggio is the creative and passionate winemaker behind Il Poggio di Gavi, a family estate in the hills of Gavi, a commune in the Italian region of Piedmont. Inspired by her great-grandfather Alfredo, Francesca left her job as an estate agent in Milan and moved to Il Poggio di Gavi to revive the family wine cellar. She started producing authentic and expressive wines from 100% Cortese grapes, the native variety of Gavi.

Francesca follows a low-intervention approach in the vineyard and the cellar, avoiding herbicides and pesticides, and respecting the terroir and the identity of each vintage. Her wines are elegant, fresh, and balanced, reflecting the diversity of the 11 municipalities in Gavi. Besides the classic Gavi tranquillo style, Francesca also experiments with sparkling wines, such as the Metodo Classico “L’Ape” and the Pet Nat “L’Eco”, which showcase the versatility and charm of Cortese.
