2021 Gegika ‘To The Moon’ Cabernet Sauvignon

As a third generation winemaker, Georgie Lehmann-Matene's personal winemaking journey began in 2021. After years of traversing the hospo scene and exploring far-flung corners of the world, she embarked on a personal quest ~ to create a wine entirely her own. Despite living next to a winery most of her life, it took leaving the industry, and the Barossa, for her passion to ignite.

Georgie asked her Dad, David (of david Franz Wines, whose father Peter established Peter Lehmann Wines), if she could have some fruit to play around with, and he happily started her off with some Cabernet grapes, nurtured on the home block where she grew up. This began her rewarding quest to learn as much as she could; evolving and pushing herself out of her comfort zone.

Georgie's creativity doesn't end there. She is also responsible for all the drawings on her labels. Each bottle is then carefully hand silkscreen printed, wax dipped and wrapped.
